PPS (Pick to Pallet System)

PPS

Being an evolution of the ARP system, the Pick-to-Pallet-System (patent pending) has been developed by System Logistics to offer the advantages of an extremely flexible intensive picking system, not necessarily linked to an automated storage system.

The picking operator (guided by the WMS systems through radiofrequency communication) collects the packages directly from the pallets stored in static locations and/or picking stations, arranging the customer's pallet on the relating transpallet. PPS offers the possibility of quickly replacing the pallets for the medium and low rotation codes and matches the advantages of the man-to-goods systems with those of the goods-to-man.

It is most suitable when the picking volumes and the number of managed codes (SKU) are medium-high and/or change during time, and where picking is particularly split (packages/order-line are ≤ 10÷12). The system can be "automatically" configured depending on the number of codes to be handled and their utilization frequency; savings in labour costs reach 25÷30% and the covered area is remarkably smaller as well.
